A'Ali gives us our second Norfolk Stakes winner from the breeze-ups in the last four years to add to Prince Of Lir's success in the race in 2016. Purchased with Simon Crisford at the Goffs UK Breeze-Up Sale, A'Ali repelled a strong field of international raiders to win the prestigious Royal Ascot Group-2 contest on just his second start. A relentless display of galloping from Nadaitak saw him come home 22-lengths clear in the Grade-2 River Don Novices' Hurdle at Doncaster on Saturday. An £80,000 puchase from the Goffs UK Autumn Horses In Training Sale in November 2017, Nadaitak has now won two of his four starts over hurdles for trainer Ben Pauling and owners the Megson Family who have enjoyed a stellar week following the Grade-2 success of Global Citizen last Saturday as well as an impressive debut success from new recruit The Captains Inn at Leicester on Tuesday. Nadaitak will now be aimed towards the Grade-1 3-mile Sefton Novices Hurdle at Aintree's Grand National Meeting where his seemingly bottomless reserves of stamina will come in useful.

Global Citizen won the second Grade-2 of his career in the Champion Hurdle Trial at Haydock on Saturday with a powerful performance under David Bass for trainer Ben Pauling and owners The Megson Family. Having announced himself in top company with a scintillating success last season in the Grade-2 Dovecote Novices' Hurdle at Kempton, Global Citizen furthered his career this season with a gutsy display in the Gerry Fielden Hurdle at Newbury in November. He bounced back from a below-par performance at Kempton in the Grade-1 Christmas Hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day with an impressive performance at Haydock which sets up him perfectly for a crack at the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March,

Young Rascal, an Arqana purchase as a yearling, returned to form in notable style over the past month with a pair of Group-3 victories at Newbury. The winner of the G3 Chester Vase Stakes at Chester in May, the son of Intello did show his best in the Epsom Derby afterwards. Given a break by trainer William Haggas, Young Rascal returned to action with victory in the G3 Legacy Cup Stakes and then repeated the dose when carrying his penalty to a dead-heat success in this weekend's G3 St Simon Stakes. Young Rascal should make up into a most exciting middle-distance colt in 2019 for owner Bernard Kantor.

Sands Of Mali put in a sensational performance to make all in the Group-1 British Champions Sprint at Ascot on Saturday defeating Europe's best sprinters in devastating fashion. Having been so unlucky when runner-up in the G1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot in June, Richard Fahey's star three year-old repelled mutiple Group-1 winner Harry Angel to win by a length under Paul Hanagan for owners The Cool Silk Partnership. A breeze-up purchase for £75,000, Sands Of Mali has now won just under £700,000 in career earnings and looks set for an exciting 2019.

The wonderful six year-old son of Equiano The Tin Man registered his third G1 success in as many years with a powerful performance to beat the UK & Ireland's best sprinters in Saturday's G1 Haydock Sprint Cup with Sands Of Mali running with credit for a three year-old back in fifth. The Tin Man has now won three of the four UK's top sprint races having won the G1 British Champions Sprint at Ascot in 2016 and the G1 Golden Jubilee at Royal Ascot in 2017. His success is testament to the incredible training skills of James Fanshawe and all of his team at Pegasus Stables. This is the second time James Fanshawe and Stroud Coleman Bloodstock have teamed up to win this prestigious G1 with Society Rock having won the Haydock showpiece in 2012.
